Support The Gregson

The Gregson is a community-led charity. It is thriving thanks to our local community and the extraordinary efforts of volunteers and donors that allowed us to reopen after the pandemic. In this, our 40th Anniversary year, with rising costs and the cost of living crisis affecting us all, we need to raise at least £20,000 to break even and keep this vital community service running.

The Gregson is Lancaster’s oldest community & arts hub. Our mission is for people to be in the driving seat of their community events and cultural experiences. The Gregson is thriving and our facilities are being used more now than ever before. But, our costs are rising and we are still fragile. As we continue to stabilise our independent charity needs your help now to:

• Break even this year
• Manage rising costs to keep the centre running during the cost of living crisis whilst ensuring we maintain investment in the centre

We need £20k to break even this year. Your donations will enable us to cover the costs for: rising electricity bills; a more energy efficient cooler for the bar; Living Wage for all staff; investing in our community’s events; and supporting volunteers – all critical if the Gregson is to continue running in its current form and to continue developing and responding to local interest and initiatives.

The Gregson:

• Responds to community needs by delivering projects in partnership with the NHS, Lancaster City Council and others.
• Is home to 50 regular arts and community groups and boasts an exciting programme of one-off events.
• Receives no regular public subsidy – so we are entirely self-reliant.
